change display name of Refinement panel Values

I have a refinement panel which has a refiner ContentType. It displays the values ContentTyp1, ContentTyp2,ContentType3. I want to change the display name of the values to say Finance, HR , Marketing. I added a CEWP with jquery and was able to change it. But as soon as I enter a search term, the values revert back to the old form of ContentType1,....It looks as though the jquery is not called when user searches for something. I put a simple alert on the page .When the page loads the first time, the alert is displayed, but when I search for an item, the alert is not displayed. How do I change the display name of the values in the Refiner.
