Whenever we go for SPServices utility on server side due to failover of individual async calls there is a delay in performance

Sp Services does offer the most user friedly piece of code on SharePoint, But if we seem to enable async it still lags behind in performance when compared with the client model, any reasons?

Or am i missing something in my implementation ?
