approval workflow. SharePoint foundation 2013 using CSOM and JSOM API components

I need to approval workflow using Services CSOM and JSOM API components and not Out of the box methods.But there is no documentation or useful links which provide same samples.I see this article http://ift.tt/14n7Ytn it use jquery and javascript, but no samples available.
