List View With Child List Data Aggregation

We have a requirement where we have to aggregate data from child list(Assignments) and show it as part of parent list(Students).

The important note is, the child list should be shown in-line within parent data and not as a separate list. That means we can't use the relational list app part.

My questions are

1. Is this possible by using SharePoint designer and customize the list view ?


2. If we use a JQuery based data grid within SharePoint 2013 hosted app, is this possible ?


3. I guess the impact on performance would be huge, if the parent list size to be around 40,000 items and child list having around 10 items per master list and parent list has 2 lookup columns with which the group-by needs to be done. Am I correct ?

Based on all the points, is it advisable to implement this kind of application in SharePoint 2013 or better to go for simple ASP.NET based web-application ?
