Our SharePoint 2013 on-premise farm is installed on domain.com. Domain.com's forest is named Domain.com, too. Under these forest there are several domains child.com, child2.com, etc.
Recently I need to configure the people picker so that it can query another forest new.com. new.com have one-way trust with domain.com. I ran follow command:
STSADM.exe -o setproperty -pn peoplepicker-searchadforests -pv "Forest:domain.com;Forest:new.com,new.com\admin,$$$$$" -url http://ift.tt/1yuuign
After above line is submitted, the people picker can pick users under new.com. However it can no longer query any user under domain.com, child1.com or child2.com. End up I have to add domain.com's admin into the command to make it work.
My question is what's the permission people is using if I don't setup the user/password?
