Unable to move to the next survey page after adding column validation to the second page

I have a survey on SharePoint 2013 with the below work flow:

I added column validation to the drop-down choice questions on page 1 of my survey ( to give error if the default option "Select" is chosen) and it worked fine. The last question of my Survey>Page 2 has branching logic and column validation. When I implemented the same column validation to the multiple choice questions there and started the survey, the survey just would not move to the second page on clicking "Next". I tried not adding the column validation to the question with branching, but the issue remained.

Please let me know if any one has faced\resolved this issue. Also, if any part of the question is confusing, I would be glad to clarify.
