SharePoint Online - Public site Image renditions

I have a SharePoint online subscription which includes a public site collection to be used as a website.

I can see in Site Settings that Image Renditions is activated, but I cannot see the Edit Rendition button in the images I upload.

Everything works fine in the "non-public" site collections of SharePoint online. Is there something that needs to be activated?
