due to a planned power outage I will be completely shutting down and starting up our SharePoint farm. Nothing about the application will be changed, no upgrades etc. I have seen this as the recommended order for doing so:
Shutdown: -WFE servers (we have 2) -App servers (we have 2) -SQL server
Startup: -SQL server -App servers -WFE servers
My Question: Is it necessary to stop particular services on any or all of these servers? If so, what servers do I need to stop and start? Is there a preferred order for the services in question?
