Counting occurrence of query terms

Has anyone any experience of counting the number of occurrences of query terms in a single search result?

For instance if my search returns a couple of documents I want to be able to determine how many times the query occurs in each doc.

I know there is the COUNT operator in FQL but that does not give me a sum of occurrences.

Does anybody know if this is possible?
