Picture Library list shown in IFRAME will not allow adding new images

I have a Picture Library on sharepoint foundation 2013 that is being accessed via an IFRAME in our Dynamics CRM system.

this library shows fine as does any content added by accessing the list normally, but when using the list through the IFRAME we cannot add images drag and drop does nothing and clicking the '+ new picture' button/link does not show the dialogue box as expected.

we have the permissive Xframe Header feature installed and enabled. the CRM and SharePoint systems are on different domains both are in the intranet zone.

how can I allow users to add new images to the library whilst using an IFRMAE?
