We have a user portal that is a publishing site. We're going to have to program a couple of administrative screens that require specific custom code, and since the code is centric to the page, we planned on not using a web part and instead using a SharePoint Application Page.
The SharePoint setup is simple, having only one site collection and no subsites.
Are there any ramifications or pitfalls to mixing publishing pages and application pages?
