SharePoint 2010, Search documents in document library, filtered by two library fields

BLUF: SharePoint 2010, Search documents in document library, filtered by two library fields.

I have a veiw of a document library all formatted the way I want, one filter is specified in the definition of the view (available == true), the other I am specifying on the URL (e.g. group == xyzzy) and sorted my modification date. My problem is my internal customer wants to then search the documents attached to the library for some key words. The attached files are currently scanned by the system and a full SharePoint search will find them, but not filtered. My team lead does not think it is possible without making a C# managed solution. I am trying to keep it in JavaScript / JQuery / OOTB SharePoint WP. I have been working with OSSSearchResults or Search Core Results WP, but after a week I have not succeeded.

Personally I feel bad that I have not been able to figure this out, and am curious as to where I should have looked to have found it on my own. Be it book, web site, or google search. Since I have not found it I believe my research methods are clearly off.
