I'm coming into an environment where previous admins didn't know what they were doing and started making file system changes. As part of this, heavy modifications were made to the CMDUI.xml file. I've been able to get my hands on an ootb version of the CMDUI.xml. I've replaced the customized file with the default file and reset IIS on the server. Some of the ribbon buttons still do not show up, like Workflow Settings.
Where else or what other file system changes would cause this behaviour? There are are no user controls or other features deployed that modify the ribbon. I see nothing in our masterpage or css that would be removing or hiding these buttons.
Are there any other files besides CMDUI that affect the ribbon?
