Term Store inaccessible. Gets error



Need Help!


I'm not able to access the term store from Site Actions --> Site setting --> Term Store Management.


Below is the error that I receive:


"**The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available. The Application Pool or Managed Metadata Web Service may not have been started. Please Contact your Administrator. "**


This is in my local environment, hence im the administrator for the site collection and the term store as well.


Few days back I was able to access the term store. I even created the Term sets and Term values in it.


But now its not accessible. Its not accessible from Central Admin as well.
