Is there any technical reason why server based integration removes functionality?



In a Dynamics CRM - Sharepoint integration there are two ways of integrating.



  1. Client-based integration

  2. Server-based integration


When you do server-based integration you lose some functionality in CRM and have to open the location in Sharepoint to be able to perform them.


Is there any technical reasoning behind this, or is it just because Microsoft haven't fully integrated it?
