SharePoint 2013 Navigation - Show Parent Site Collection

Have a navigation query.

In SharePoint 2013 is it possible to show the parent Site Collection in the top horizontal navigation?

Presently it will only show the current site and sub-sites however we want it to display the parent site-collection.

Current Structure: IT | IT Service Desk | IT Services | IT Training

Ideal Strcuture: Resources | IT | IT Service Desk | IT Services | IT Training

We need this so that the end user always has the ability to navigate up to the parent site.
